Account Director / Senior Account Manager – Medical Comms

Full-time, Permanent - Letchworth, Herts, UK

Working on a range of European and global accounts using a range of media and platforms, you would work with us at our offices in Letchworth Garden City. While full-time working is preferred, we will consider part-time applications.

We are looking for someone who is able to work both independently and as part of a team to implement our ingenious campaigns. The individual will require a good understanding of medical strategies and internal audience messaging. With no two days the same, your activities will focus on helping our clients to communicate with their desired audience to the highest of standards.

Main purpose of the role:
• To lead/manage client accounts by taking responsibility for client service and financial delivery. To represent the client internally and represent Prescript externally to the client.
• To be responsible for the management of project processes, ensuring they are effective and efficient with designated accounts.
• To manage projects and deliverables to ensure consistency and alignment, ensuring projects are resourced correctly.
• To identify and win new business together with senior colleagues.


Essential Skills and Experience:
• Strong medical communications background, ideally within an agency setting
• Good project management skills and ability to multi-task across a number of different initiatives
• Good understanding of thought leadership, corporate reputation and the concept of client business development
• Ability to own a project plan and co-ordinate with suppliers to hit deadlines
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative approach to working
• Confident working with senior stakeholders
• Willingness to push the envelope and challenge traditional approaches
• The ability to work in a team and support junior team members

Strategic Planner

Role Overview

As the Strategic Planner you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, relevance of the product/brand building process and supporting the communication strategy to our account teams in order to provide Prescript clients with strategic direction and customer insights. You will report directly to the Head of Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
• Serves as a strategic consultant to both the internal teams and agency clients
• Central role in guiding the brand building and communications planning process
• Acts as an ambassador for the Prescript brand and all its assets, ensuring all personnel are trained, familiar with, and adhere to the agreed agency strategic tools and processes
• Leads and participates in strategy development initiatives for clients and new business
• Drives the strategic process; actively leading, moderating and participating in strategic workshop streams both internally and with clients
• Presents research/strategy findings in client and new business meetings
• Acts as the consumers voice within the agency applying market knowledge and insights to the business need and brand
• Works with the account and creative teams to effectively craft creative briefs and support the creative process
• Leads market research projects, where appropriate esp. for new business opportunities
• Designs market research discussion guides and questionnaires, Moderates focus groups, analyzes data, and develops implications and recommendations
• Monitors and interprets cultural and social trends relevant to business need
• Leads and participates in group brainstorming sessions
• Assists in developing, implementing, and evolving the agency’s strategic methodologies and processes
• Works as a central member of the agency team with the ability to apply knowledge and learning’s across markets

Experience
• Educated to degree level
• 1+ years’ experience working in an agency environment as either an account planning or account lead
• Good understanding and demonstrated experience of the strategic process of brand building.
• Excellent communication ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information from a variety of sources, such as trade journals, research reports, white papers and cross-tabulated survey data. Ability to draft research reports, presentations, white papers, and general business correspondence. Ability to effectively support presentation of research results to customers, clients, and other agency team employees
• Excellent reasoning ability: Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to extract and simplify the key points from a multi-layered or complex client brief. The ability to build a, fully referenced, convincing story from the information provided
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Must be competent in using MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Senior Medical Writer

The role will draw on your experience in medical communications and scientific expertise to develop and deliver communications and educational materials of the highest quality to our clients. Reporting to one of our Principle Medical Writers, you will have the opportunity to grow within help the editorial team through structured coaching and timely mentoring. You will be an important player in developing and building relationships with clients and be a valued partner in those client-facing activities.

Role Overview
As a Senior Medical Writer, you will be responsible for leading the writing and development of a wide range of materials aimed at diverse audiences and across a wide range of therapy areas and specialisms. You will need to collaborate closely with the creative/design and client services teams, ensure maintenance of the company’s high standards and support the development of more junior writers. Responsibilities and Duties
• Produce clear, concise and accurate copy to the highest scientific and grammatical standards, ensuring materials produced are suitable for the target audience and conform to client specifications
• Research and source relevant materials, analyse and interpret scientific data, and structure an appropriate deliverable
• Demonstrate good attention to detail and apply internal processes consistently
• Proactively manage and monitor own workload and that of other writers assigned to projects where necessary
• Highlight potential issues with budget/project progression to Account Handler, and issues with resourcing to Editorial Lead
• Provide effective briefs to peers in editorial and studio teams and to freelancers
• Monitor work through studio, providing constructive feedback on design concepts, layout, content and branding
• Support Client Services team with proposals and budgets as appropriate and guide accurate estimation of writing time
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients regarding project content. Highlight new/repeat business opportunities to Client Services and attend and present at client meetings if required
• Act as lead writer, with minimal coaching from a more senior writer. Review and be accountable for work by other writers assigned to the same projects
• Critically assess own work and receive constructive feedback from colleagues. Provide support and guidance to other writers
• Seek out learning and development opportunities to improve in-role performance and demonstrate drive to continuously grow.

Qualifications
• University degree or equivalent in life science or medical subject (2:1 or above)
• Experience writing for a broad range of projects across multiple therapy areas
• Ability to apply information on any therapy area with minimal guidance
• Excellent awareness of industry guidelines and best practice and their application
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills and ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat and a variety of additional software and on-line resources: Zinc; Referencing databases; PubMed; Web Science; clinicaltrials.gov; as well as EMA and FDA websites.
